Weekend Sporting Events Bring 8,300 people, $3.2 Million to Local Economy

Clarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville welcomed two major events this weekend that, combined, pumped over $3.2 million into the local economy.

The Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA) Track & Field State Championships brought some 2,520 visitors, including 600 athletes, who competed at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium for top medals in discus throw, high jump, long jump, shot put along with multiple track events.

Museum Receives National Endowment for the Arts Grant to support Art by African Americans

Clarksville, TN - The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support a project entitled “Celebrating the Legacy and Future of African American Arts.” Central to the project is the opportunity for the Clarksville community to visit one of the most comprehensive exhibitions ever organized featuring works on paper by African American artists over the last three centuries.

Work under way on section of Red River Trail

Clarksville to Host 2017 TN Future Stars Football Games

Clarksville, TN – On the heels of announcing that the city will host the 2017 Toyota East West All-Star Classic, Visit Clarksville officials have landed another state-wide football event for 2017. The Tennessee Future Stars will host their annual Tennessee-Kentucky games for seventh and eighth graders in Clarksville on June 17 at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium.

Clarksville, TN – The 2017 Toyota East-West Football All-Star Classic will be held in Clarksville, Tennessee at Austin Peay State University on Friday, December 8, 2017. The All-Star Classic is organized by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) and is made up of the state’s top 88 senior football players who are selected from more than 400 nominations.
